"I consider Heather Ferris right along the likes of other up and coming female Bluegrass artists like Donna Hughes and Becky Buller, both of which also write and perform their own songs. The instrumentalists on this album are stand up musicians, including her young son Dylan who is one of those kids that can pick up anything and make music with it."

Heather's debut album "Ties that Bind" was released in 2006. Produced by Nick Hornbuckle and with John Reischman and the Jaybirds providing the musicianship, this album features nine of Heather's original songs as well as one of John's instrumentals. Guest musician on the instrumental is Heather's son Dylan who was eleven at the time of the recording. The single "Blackbird" was on Prime Cuts of Bluegrass Volume 91 and the album still receives airplay on internet and regular radio programming in Canada, the US, Australia and many places in Europe.
